coilovers or springs?
if you live in a place with all 4 seaons, coilovers are a good idea so you're not driving a slammed Civic around in the winter. They are expensive, but from what i've heard they are super convenient.
Meh, it's not really that "convenient" to raise and lower your car all the time. Plus the adjusters get gunked up with road salt in the winter. And the spring rates that you need for "slammed" driving are not good to have in the snow.
There's a link in the stickies that you should read:

You also have to think about the ride you want. From my experience, springs give you a softer ride than coilovers. My coilovers are stiff as hell. But some springs are really stiff too.
