Default DoT Approved Big Brake Kit

Hey.. was just looking up the Wilwood big brake kits.. as suggested through an old post on here but found out they are not DOT approved.. which im sure means non inspectable.. I did find a Force 10 brand brake kit for 650 bucks.. with 12" rotors.. has anyone heard of this brand .. or have any other input on whether DoT approved is in fact required for an inspected vehicle??

check out www.fastbrakes.com they got some good stuff, just remember that with a 12in rotor you will probably need at least some 16s but that owuld be pushing it will need 17s for a good fit

200hp FAR from requiring a big brake kit. Just upgrade your rears to discs, that's all you'll ever need.

Spend your money elsewhere, that's my .02

I already warped my rotors though.. i am frequently braking from over 100

also just called and spoke to a mechanic about what is inspectable.. he said that if he noticed aftermarket brake kit on a vehicle that he would require the DoT approval on the box or he would fail it.. also he said without upgrading my master cylinder.. it would be pointless to get 4 piston brakes over the cheaper 2 piston stainless steel brakes as there would not be enough brake fluid flow.. can anyone confirm this ?

May I ask why? Is it a track car? If it WAS in fact a track car, and it was putting 250+hp to the ground, I'd start to consider big brakes. But it's a waste of money for your application, IMO.

so just the brembo slotted rotors and new brake pads should be enough then for hardcore street app?.. just wanna make sure im stopping when going over 100.. right now even with stock engine i cant stop without mashing the brakes hard to try to lock em up.. i have been using the ebrake while braking lately to cut down on the front end shaking from stock warped rotors.. i have also been trying to find out about just pulling a GSR or SI brakes.. dunno if they are just a straight swap though.. no one i know has done this around here..

I dont use car for track but i drive a little in excess of speed limits ..

i have a gsr in my sol. not 200whp but its still quick and my front end shook when i braked over 75. i got power slot rotors and aem brake pads i think it was under 200 all together. i got them from a&a and i can brake quick even at 100 real smooth.
