EK sway bar question

RE: EK sway bar question
only the SI's come with the rear sway stock. what size is the bar? u might be able to use the original d-bracket holes to mount it, but if its a pretty thick sway bar, u'll need to drill thru ur subframe.

It's a 19mm. Can I still use the d-bracket holes?Crap, I was hoping this would be an easy install, but the instructions talk about turning the strut assembly backwards and doing all these mods to the suspension.

RE: EK sway bar question
i think u might have to drill into the subframe. for the d-brackets, its not that difficult, just line everything up and drill a few holes. why would u have to turn the strut?i thought my kit would be a simple bolt up, boy was i wrong...

I'm confused. What size is the SiR Civic sway bar? becausethat TCC linksaid I didn't have to drill anything. And yeah I know, 19mm is a weird size, mostly there like 22mm. But this one was only $170 shipped and I figured It would be better than the one I thought I had.

RE: EK sway bar question
i believe the SiR is the same as the usdm 6th gen SI sway bar, 12mm(i think). if u go with the oem size swaybar, u wont have to drill or do kind of modification since ur car is already preped to fit that size. tho, since ur going with a thicker bar, the bushings are larger and in turn the d-brackets are wider. that means the mounting holes on the d-brackets will not line up with the pre-drilled holes on ur subframe.

" 1999-2000 Civic Si: 13mm "
SIR is canadian,it is the same as the SI in the US. That might help clear some things up. Anything thicker then 13mm you need a sub frame brace or else you can tear your subframe as it says in that artical, and 19mm is alot thicker then 13mmso I wouldnt put it on unless you get a brace. Im with him^ sell the one you have and get a stock SI one which will bolt right on with all the necessary hardwear that it says in the DIY i posted.
