Front Strut Bars and 7th gen with Intake
I just ordered these bars on a kind of with out thinking. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...97740&rd=1
I have an aftermarket ebay intake on my 2001 civic ex coupe. I was looking at the clearance between the intake and hood. It doesn't look like it will fit... I know lots of people have tried these bars. Will they work? and is there any way to mod them to fit?
I knew I shoulda done more research before buying...

it doesnt look like youll be able to get your strut bar in seeing as tho your intake sits up soo high you might need a different intake i suggest injen sri or cai

the bar should fit in front of the intake tube. mine just barely fit, it kind of sat at an angle coming towards the front of the car right in front of the intake. but it was so close every time the engine moved it would bang on the intake and started making a hole in the intake. i ended up just taking it off because i got tired of it rattling.

I also had the same exact problem. I also tried angling it forward towars the front end of the car, only to have the intake rattle it whenever revved, creating a good indentation in my intake. I also removed my due to the rattling and the hole making in my intake. Pretty much the biggest burn ever, because I ordered a full set of megan bars, and the only one I don't have, I think could potentially make the most difference of them all. I have an AEMV2 CAI, I had to remove the CA part of it to make it a short ram to make the Strut bar fit, but now that I took it off, I lost the connector and the hose clamps that connect the two pipes. Total DOH! from Simpsons.
