Default How low do you think?

Im planning on lowering my car but I am having trouble deciding how many inches would be good on it. The wheel well gap right is 4" all around from tire to the fender and I have 14" rims wrap around 195/55. I want my car to be lowered enough that if cover most of the gap but leave a little gap maybe 1" or 1.5" gap. How many inch do you guyts think that i should drop so that its enough and noticable? Maybe 1.75 drop in the front and 1.5" back? You guys think 2.5 or 2.25 is too much?? I also heard that what factory spec drop inches isn't always accurate because once the spring is settle it will drop a little more than factrory spec.

Thank you.

oh yeah and post some pics of your car to give me an idea how it will look.

i have a 1.5' drop w/ 16's..about a 2 finger gap in the back, and 2.5-3 in the front..im lowering it a little more because i think thats too much gap..i say a 2-2.25' drop would look good.

do you plan on getting rims in the future? a 2' drop should be about right for what your looking for, a little bit more maybe.

here check this out, another guy on here is installing them too..a set of tein s-tech will run you about $160 and its like a 1.8 drop but they work with your stock shocks and you dont need a camber kit..here are 2 links from people that have already installed them on here, myself and mynmisoli ... < i have this typed out already because so many people ask the quesion

+1 for the S-techs.

A 1.8 inch drop is pretty considerable, and you wont have to do anything else to your suspension. I cant wait until I get my new, those Teins are gonna be one of the first things I put on.

So do you think 1.75 drop in the front and 1.5" back is enough to cover up the gap?

you'll still have gap, but it should be alright. like everyone is saying though, the stechs are a great set, a 1.9' in the front, and 1.7 in the rear..and they are only about 130ish on ebay. springs do not take that long to settle..maybe a week or two? definity not FOREVER though..and your question about coilovers, i suggest you stay w/ springs unless you want to keep raising them up/down and getting alignments..coilovers will also have a more "stiff/bouncy" ride, while stechs will feel more like stock w/ their low spring rates.

ill give you pics tmw of my drop, im putting on my stechs so it will be lower..you can compare the 1.5 drop to the 2.0.
