Holy crap, I've never seen HX wheels look that nice!!

I've been looking for a set of HX's to polish the lip and paint the center gun metal or black.

They haven't been on craigslist lately though.

here are some pics. spent 6-7 hours on this one rim. so i'm expecting a week for me to finish all 4. took longer than i wanted to but i think they look a lot better. Let me know what you think of them

After sanding them with 220 grit sandpaper

After wetsanding them with 1500 grit sandpaper

After finishing them up with Blue Magic Wheel Polish

Installed them, the dots on the wheels are water drops, gave them a rinse before i put them back on. i will get some more pics of them in the daytime

They are some good looking wheels. If they were just a tad bigger, 15s or even 16s. But they do look ALOT better than before.

i think because i have layers of paint on it thats why i think it took me so long to sand them off. there are also faster way to do this. if you want to polish the whole rim you can use aircraft paint stripper and sand them down afterwards. twice as fast to do it this way

EDIT: took a day off on doing the other 3 rims, my fingers are hurting from the long hours of sanding yesterday and the day before, and i also had to take my dog to the hospital today because of some allergic reaction. i will resume to work on the wheels tomorrow.can't wait to get them all done
