Default I Don't Want To Rub

Hey everyone,

I'm hoping to get some helful info from everyone before I make my choice for a near future purchase. I have a 98 dx hatchback with stock 14" wheels and I want to go to 16". I'm guessing that 16" diameter won't rub but how about the width of a wheel? What's the biggest width I get put on this civic model without rubbing.

As for my tiny drum brakes showing through the wheel spokes, I also want to do a rear disc brake swap. I would appreciate it if anyone can suggest which brand I should go with. I was also considering swapping rear disc brakes from other civics or acuras if aftermarket brakes cost too much. Finally whats the biggest brakes I can put onto my civic with 16" wheels?

Thanks a lot in advance guys.

16X7 is probably the biggest you will want to go. 205/40 r 16 tires should fit the bill nicely. as for rear discs it will probably be a lot cheaper to get the disc brake trailing arms and stuff and convert instead of buying a kit

Thanks a lot ef4life. Now the only issue is looking for those killer rims, that'll go nicely with a white hatchback. The search is on.

Take care.
