Default items needed to lower car..??

Im new to suspension. Never done it before. I have an 04 civic coupe ex looking to lower about 1.5 inches. Can i get away with just springs or should I chnage out struts as well. Please post what is the best setup and doesnt cause off balanced tires.

Thanks

If you use the search at the top of the page you will find a plethora of information on this subject. But since you asked, yes you can get away with just springs but your struts will eventually wear out. The best option is to get a coilover setup where you can adjust it to the height you like. With 1.5 you won't have too severe of camber issues.

You could go for coilovers, or springs. I myself, i'm going with Tein s-techs they have a 1.5", if i'm not mistaken, and probably Tokico blue struts. But this is for the spring, no point in lowering when winters right around the corner :P.

^ I don't know about 7th gens, but the S-techs lower 5th and 6th gens 1.9" in front and 1.7" in the rear (maybe I have those backwards)... but you probably know more than me... I'm more of a 90's civic guy lol

But anywho, you can get away with stock shocks if you lower 1.5", but a common school of thought is that you should just replace the shocks with better ones while you already have the suspension torn apart.

I will take all that in consideration. This shop gave me 100 bucks credit and was going to use it on suspension. I seen where eibach sportline would only run me about 160 out of pocket. Ill ask today about coilovers. Appreciate it

buy both now and get it over with. no reason to take them off again to change your struts later.
