Default lowering 98 hx civic

I have a 98 hx civic with 18 inch wheels. The tire size is 215/35/18. I believe the offset of the wheels is 38. It sits pretty good, but i want to change the handling a little bit. Not wanting to go real low. I dont think I can go more than an inch. Need help! What is the best way to go? Just want to close gap! Original struts. What springs will work and how low? I was thinking about the h&r springs 3/4 springs. Thank you tmaddox8@yahoo.com
