in need of a lower suspension
ok my question is who here has a good suspension they can tell me about that would lower my car and still have it driving smooth. i'm looking for a daily driving suspension with a lower look anyone could get me some info on a kit that would do me my budget is under 400 more or less so if anyone has any info it would help. right now i'm leaning toward koni shocks and matrix coilovers. anyone??

I just had my ride lowered one inch. Used Eibach performance springs. The springs were about $260. And it rides smooth!! It is tighter and has less roll. I might even drop it another half inch....
I don't know if you could drop it with springs and shocks for $400. Some springs are made to be paired with stock shocks.

A set of Tein S-Tech will run you about $150 and it’s like a 1.8 drop but they work with your stock shocks. Here are 5 links from people that have already installed them on here, myself, mynmisoli, 97_nw, x2100, 05 civic and Raul98

s-techs wont give you as good of handling as you might want and i'll tell you why. when tein designed the s-tech they wanted to make a good, reliable lowering spring that you can use with stock shocks. the problem is that if the springs are too stiff then the shocks wont be able to rebound enough and your car will be bouncy as hell and ride like crap. so to avoid this, they used a lower spring rate than most other aftermarket lowering springs. the result is a great lowering spring with stock shocks... but not so great in a handling aspect. if handling is what you're after, i'd look into H&R or Omnipower.

agreed^^ i love these springs, they ride super nice and make a nice drop, but now that i got used to them and want more of stiffer/performance oriented suspension so i will be looking into coils for the spring possibley, this cant make up my mind tho...

true liner compression with as little as .75 inch drop.
BTW, koni shocks are expensive as hell... how you gonna get that package for under $400???

well i assumed it was more or less about the price. well i guess i'm going with the tein s. i mean i dont think i could get any more body roll with my stock shocks. man i take a turn i feel like the car is going to flip. but if the stock shocks work fine w/ aftermarket i guess i'm heading towards that. i'm not really looking into performance driving...now... but just want my car a bit lower. also the other thing do you think this will stop the rubbing on my tires i'm running 205/18/and it kinda rubs on dips as u turn but that's just me. oh i forgot to mention where would u get those shocks what website would u all recommend??

you might need a camber kit for the rubbing,and aobut where can you find the springs(assuming thats what you meant) namotorsports.net its no bad but somebody else can tell you a better option on that.

...I was just thinking about buying the S-Techs.... But maybe not? How are they once you upgrade to some Tokico blues or something along those lines?

i dont really remember that well what the camber kits would adjust does that make the tire toe in and out.?? and would that affect the tire wear in any way??
