Default Noob: Wheel fitting

Lookin to buy some new rims.. and is ebay a bad place to look as long as you don't buy the off brands? (i've been looking at brand new wheel and tire packages)
I've been lookin at Motegi FF7's and wondered if they would fit properly on a 2000 EX.
Offset: +42
Size: 16x7
Bolt: 4x100 & 4x4.5

I've seen 4x100/108 on other rims and I'm just not sure what to think about bolt pattern, it fits right?
And how much do I have to worry about bent rims if I get 205/40/16?

Sorry if this is a repost, I just havent seen any threads about what the correct offsets were or anything of that sort.

Thanks

The bolt pattern you want for a 2000 civic is 4x100. I had a set of 215/45 R17 and bent one of my rims, but the pothole I hit was the size of a small lake too. The lower profile tires just don't take an impact like a regular size tire would. The 205/40/16 you're talking about getting wouldn't be bad size. Just be careful...

I just recently bought a set of Enkei rims and put 205/50/16 which is closest to "stock" size as you can get for a 16 rim. Like chase said, the lower the profile the more likely to bend a rim. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the help guys, maybe I'll run out the cheap lower pro's (40's) that come with the rims, then buy more expensive 45's soon after.

Just keep in mind that when you change your tire size, you're affecting the speedometer readings and whatnot. I always recommend this site, it helped me a lot: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

i think more poeple get 205/50/16 when goin with 16" rims than with 205/40/16. the sidewall is gonna be really small, and unless u plan on slamming it, i think i tmight look funny...ur gonna have alot of space in between the well and the tire.

is 205/40/16 a common 16" tire size? i am not too familiar with 16" tire sizes....

I think 205/50 is the most common tire size for 16" rims. I know the 205/55 had a decent selection of tires to choose from.

I have 205/45/16, which is closest to stock for a 6th gen. I think 205/50/16 is closer to stock for a 7th gen?
