Opinion on rims (ride quality etc.)
Ok so i have been debating whther to go with 16's or 17's for my car, its a '99 EX and the hubcaps make me want to vomit so am thinking of doing the rims rather soon, I know for 16's i have seen people here reccomend 205/40/16 tires, or maybe it was 205/45/16 dunno and dont feel like checking again at the moment, but for 17's what size tires would be needed? I am leaning towards the 16's just because i think 17 is too big in my opinion but I am not going to be able to drop the car for a while after the rims due to a tight budget and I dont want it to look stupid until I drop it, if i drop it.
So in your opinion would i be better off going 17's or 16's? and how much of a difference is their in the roughness of the ride between the two? I know with the 16's I could use a thicker profile tire than 17's but i want to know if it is really a huge difference in ride quality.
here is a picture of how it is now

i know not alot of people do it but if you even have a thought in your mind of a bigger brake kit, down the road or anything like that, most of them require 17's. I personally would put 17's on it, thats what im getting, some 6-8 spoke white rims would look pretty killer IMO.

I have 17's on my car, just recently installed them. I barely noticed the car riding any rougher then when my stock steelies were on the car. I also have aftermarket springs and shocks (which I got first and personally recomend you do) so that probably has a lot to do with it. But, my friend has an EG with a similar suspension setup and he has 16's with 205/45 tires and his ride seems rougher than my 205/40/17's!! So really it all depends, I think 17's look pretty sick on most civics (especially sedans) but on a coupe with stock ride height I'd probably recomend 15 or 16's

i have 17's too with aftermarket springs and shocks. when i put the 17's on i thought the car actually drove smoother than with the stock wheels. the wider wheel and tire tend to follow the grooves in the roads more so it can feel squirrely at times. IMO 17's is the way to go.

aargg 17 inch is way to big for that size of a car it looks so ugly like no tire at all only some huge wheel on a small car... 15 inches are awesome on these cars xD take a look at these wheels, It would look sooooo much better
