Default Please help... I don't know how important this is

I installed my rear shocks/springs today and when I was picking up the old ones I realized I forgot something... the bump stop plate.I have a 93 ex and my shocks have dust covers. Underneath the dust covers is the bump stop. In between the bump stop and dust cover is the bump stop plate. How important is that? I forgot to put it back in on one of my shocks. I need to know if the car is ok to drive like that or if I need to go right back outside and fix it :-(
Thanks!!

I just found out what my title asks... Today, while driving home from work I started hearing a weird rattling noise. I checked all over the car and couldn't find it. I decided to check the shocks and I see that the dust cover on my back left shock is all the way down. I pull up the carpet in my trunk to find that the shock piston rod thing is ALL THE WAY UP!! I asked a mechanic and he said that it was cause of that washer (the "bump stop plate" is the technical name). I hadn't even told him that I put the shocksin myself or that I forgot it. He just goes, "That's what happens when whoever is installing shocks forgets to put the washer under the dust cover." and then I told him I put them in and that's actually what I forgot to do but thought it would be ok. As you can see by the date of when I first posted this, it's been almost 2 weeks and it just popped up today... This adds to the list of things for today. When **** goes wrong, it goes wrong!

No, I already fixed it. It bent the top of the dust cover up and that's how it pushed up that far. When I first saw it I was in disbelieve and thought I was going to have to get a new shock. I took it out, compressed the spring, put the washer in, and put it all back together. It's fine now (i think).
