Ok well first off, i hate to tell you, but you're acting like you are puttin some crazy horse power down with "i had not even a hope for traction with my set-up" Second of all, street racing is stupid, save it for the track. you shouldnt need really good perfomance tires for racing on the street. so stop being a newb a race where it's legal. you are gonna injure yourself or someone else street racing. its stupid. period

Yea man, racing a mustang in a170hp civic, your problem must have been traction, I mean come on, the civic is clearly the winner in that race on a normal day... LMAO!

Take it to the track and learn how to launch, Then, KEEP IT AT THE TRACK!

ur gena lose traction unless ur on likeslicks...i do with a stock motor, Azenis and hardly droping the clutch at ~2500...theres a bunch of other factors thatcome into play.weather, pavement, tire specs, pressures, etc..

you want a good power/weight ratio? Buy a sportbike. My CBR600 throws down close to 100hp at the rear wheel and it weighs under 400lbs. You might weigh half a ton less than the Mustang (drag racer's rule of thumb: for every 100lbs you lose off the car, your 1/4 mile time will drop by 1/10 a second. So pretty much, if your cars produced the same amount of power, your car would be 1 second faster than the mustang), but the Mustang still has a fairly large power advantage to even things up.

And everyone's laughing because you were acting like you had the most badass car ever built. Throw a built K20/K24 frankenstien swap in and turbo it, and then you'll have "not even a hope for traction". My friend's p.o.s. '98 cavi (stock motor) can spin the tires through 1st gear if he drops the clutch.
