Default rear lower strut bar torque value

I've looked on a couple of posts and seen ranging from 74 to 40 feet/lbs. I have the Haynes manual but I am not 100% on what value to go off of. There is "lower arm to body pivot bolt" which I think it might be and that says 40. I just did it to 70. BTW whoever does this in the future, make sure to have your jacks towards the rear and put support under the control arm just in case. I saw mixed opinions on this in the forums but I always take the extra precaution and I'm glad I did because it fell on me and the holes got out of line and it took me way too long to install (4 hours) (see 1st pic). Also, the front lower strut bar looks impossible to put on. The bolts are huge and it seems as though I'll have to bore the holes in my strut bar but regardless of these I don't seem to have enough clearance (see pics) to use my torque wrench. I'm thinking of taking it to a shop but I don't know what they would do. Any suggestions? BTW, I just found out how to put pics and I haven't shown my car (99 EX) yet, so the last 2 are it. Not as pimp as others but it is just what I like and I'm gonna get Slips soon.

well I bet the bolt your talking about IS the "lower arm to body pivot" bolt. but 70 ft-lbs isn't going to kill anything

I remember when amg6975 did the front tie bar on his civic, he had to drill out the holes in the bar. so if you have to do it too, don't worry about it. ebay parts, right??

Yeah, they came in high regard though. I haven't heard anybody say anything bad so I figured good upgrade that is cheap as well. I saw that thread, it's not the issue of making the holes bigger, it is that there is about 1-2 inches of clearance tops and I can't work within that tight of a space. I did get the other three on and took it for a test drive and all the talk is dead on but I really want to get that last one on. But if not, I guess I'll just have to sell or wait til spring. It's getting too cold to work on my car now, 30 degree high tomorrow!

Good memory, I forgot I had to do that. What a PITA. My brother and I in the pool house at 1 in the morning trying to drill out hardware, with a bit that was way too small, so we wouldn't wake anyone sleeping right above the garage up.

40 ft/lbs of tq for the rear bolts and about 50 ft/lbs of tq for the front bolts. the bolts u have in the pics for the front are the wrong ones, u do not bolt the front tie bar to those. here a couple pics of where its supposed to go, first one i just took from the haynes manual and circled the bolts ur supposed to use and the second is from my car.
