Default ride question

Hello all,
I bought the dropzone strut/coilover combo on ebay a couple months ago for my 95 civic. The ride is pretty bumpy, but bearable. Sometimes when i hit big bumps i hear a loud thud sound, and im kinda wondering what it is. I know that my car isnt bottoming out.

I was looking at my friends OEM shocks and coils and he has some come of bump stopper or something that goes on the strut. I looked at mine and it didnt have one, i guess i didnt put it on or it doesnt need one? Im kindof thinking this has something to do with it, or my struts just suck.

His car rides better than mine and doesnt make the loud thud sound, his car is also lower. we are both riding on 15's.

any ideas?

it could be the springs, just the way they are. when i had my sprint springs, when i went over big speedbumps too fast etc, i would hear the "CLANK". i didnt have any bumpstops in as well. now i have upgraded to tein stechs and that sound is gone. im still running no bump stops..which isnt too good of an idea, but i have had no problems.

the bump stops are there to slow down the springs so they dont make it all the way to the perches and giving you that clanking noise.... if you still have them i would highly recommend you put them back in... i think they want you to cut the smaller half of them off if the car is lower than stock to...

ok well after further inspection, it appears that i have some form of stopper, but when reinstalling my strut i broke off a bolt on the top of the strut that holds it on the car, from overtightening does anybody know where i can find the top part (i wish i knew the name) the thing that goes on top of the strut that you bolt onto the car?

tein pillow upper mounts.
if the broken strut upper mount is in the back, would i be able to use one from the front?

no the front and rear are two differnt designs and how they bolt the control arms to the car... one is longer and shaped different than the other. i think you are talking about the two bolts that hold the shock to the body and are opposite of each other when sticking into the car? if those are broken you can just go to a junk yard and get a whole new top peice with those two bolts and just replace them with the ones you got from the junk yard...

just dont tighten then as tight and you should be golden

hope this helps
