Default S2000 Rims are 5 lugs...but what about these?

These rims are 2005 Civic Rims. I would be putting them on a 1994 Civic Coupe EX. I just bought it and it has the S2000 Silverstone paint job. Here's what's posted about the rims:

" 2004 civic wheels perfect cond new tires
(2 50% tread 2 80% tread and 2 new.. 6 tires.. kumho 711) 450 firm

piaa 959 no bulbs or harness 40 "

What does piaa 959, no bulbs or harness 40 mean? Also, why would he be giving up 6 tires for 4 rims? Is this for racing? Like I said, I'm new to the Civic game but I love my Civic. It gets btwn 32 - 35 mpg!!! I travel about 90 miles a day. So the gas savings is awesome.

Anyway, any thoughts on getting these rims for $450? Thanks.

this must be a separate item, fog lights or something.

Don't buy all 6 tires, you really only need 4 but can you find out what size they are?? Stock '05 tires will be too big for your '94.

Thanks. I called the guy and they are fog lights.

He already sold the rims.

Is there a rule of thumb for sizes of rims that can fit my 1994 Civic Coupe EX? Where can I get that kind of information? My friend has convinced me that I should get 17"s for it (it has 14"s I think). What's the difference in performance? Also, the previous owner had 17"s but she said they were expensive to maintain and the first month she had the car she had 2 flats. Is there a distinct difference in handling, safety and maintenance with the bigger size rims?

18s are too big and 14s seem too small IMO. anywhere between 15 & 17" looks good on a civic. Go to www.tirerack.com and look up wheels for your specific vehicle, they even have flash program that kind of lets you see what the wheels look like on your car. It will also explain what size tires you should buy with whatever size wheels you want to upgrade to.

As long as the tire size on your 17s is equal to your 14s the performance doesn't change. I believe car&driver did a test changing the wheel sizes from a stock (14") wheel up to 18"s and the difference was barely measurable, as long as the tires/wheel combo is the same over-all diameter as your stock 14s ie: stock 14s are i believe 195/65/14 where as a 17" would be 205/40/17

Also, the previous owner had 17"s but she said they were expensive to maintain and the first month she had the car she had 2 flats. Is there a distinct difference in handling, safety and maintenance with the bigger size rims?

17s are not difficult to maintain . . . maybe for girls who like to take out their aggression by checking curbs and attacking pot holes at 50mph! Just remember that the bigger the wheel the smaller the sidewall will have to be to accomodate for the difference in size in order to maintain your speedometer accurate. The smaller the sidewall the easier it becomes to bend or damage a wheel upon contact with a curb.

I had about 8 different sets of 17s in my previous vehicle and I never even got a flat, it's all dependant on how well you drive and how often you like to cruise construction sites where you can pick up nails with your tires!

Benefits of up-sizing is that you will have a smaller sidewall which improves your handling since the tire's sidewall doesn't "roll" when cornering as compared to a chunky tire.

Check out www.tirerack.com for wheels
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp for an easy to use wheel/tire calculator that will explain how changing tire sizes will affect your speedo.

Good luck.

Those newer civic wheels look pretty good 92-00 civics. 205/50/15, 195/55/15 are the tire sizes that you should be looking for your civic. If you wish to keep that great gas milage and not make your car any slower i would stick to 15" wheels for your car. I picked up my gsr wheels for about $200 with tires, so good deals are always popping up for honda wheels. Be patient and keep looking in Honda/Acura forum classifieds for good deals that may pop up. Just think of the money you save on gas with the stockers until you come across the right set of wheels.
