Default shocks going bad?

i just slapped on some new tokico illumina's adjustible shocks on some max speed adjustible coilovers, with a 2.5 drop back and front, my brother say its stupid cause of the coilovers.. or something it mite blow the shocks... but hten again all shocks will blow eventually but is this set up really bad?? i need some commentaries and .. how long do u guys think my shocks will last.. and do the wear depend on how i set the settings of the shocks?

oh ok. your shocks should be fine as long as you keep the bumpstops in. you may want to cut them down if the ride seems abnormally rough. take about half an inch off of the small end. about one segment.

isnt it a piece of rubber or poylurithane that stops the axle from hitting the chassis when the suspension compresses too much?

That (on some cars), and it keeps the struts from bottoming out, which puts a loooot of wear on their internals.
