Ok... Be being new and an idiot i was just wonering. With 17s and a body kit on the car... lets just say a 2000 ex coupe... how far should you lower it, if any, to make it look sweet but not scrape on speed bumps or curbs. and how do you do it? Coilovers? What are the diferent kinds? Always the idiot

 

you could go 2 inches, my boy has an accord with 17's and a kit, and his is lowerd 2 and it rides fine, just have to look out for huge pot holes and speed bumps.

 

if you do scrape afer hiting a pothole, what is the damage?

 

The exhaust will be the first thing on the ground.

 

kappa mines lowered almost 2 inches and my cat-back doesn't hit. if you're going to put 17's on and lower it, don't get a body kit. more trouble than its worth. i've seen to many slammed imports like eclipses and whatnot with the bottom half of their kit torn off from speed bumps

 

i had 17's slammed with coilovers and body kit ..it scraped but i wasn't careful with it plus it never did major damage...so i guess if u don't know how to drive a lowered and kitted car stay away from a body kit..

 

which do you think looks better: slammed or body kits?

 

I would just throw it to the ground cuz it already limit your ground clearance and by putting a body kit on it will make it even worst. Plus you dont have to worry that much about going over speed bump and pot holes. Not only that but you also have extra money to do sometyhing else rather than buying a body kit.

 

I spose you could get coilovers and have a BK. That way you could raise for driving and lower for shows right?

 

JW, I wasn't saying that any kind of lowering will **** the exhaust, I was just saying that it's generally the lowest OEM part on the car, and thus, when you get to about 2.25 or 2.5", it'll be scraping.
