Default "Snow Tires"??

I'm driving my 2nd Civic, a 2008 coupe. The first was a 2001 sedan. They both share one thing in common. They are terrible in the snow. I have been told that a set of four snow tires will greatly improve the traction and drivability in the snow. I'm looking for comments, advice, anyone who has done this? Size? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You might want to read this:

But yes, snow tires will make a huge difference. Many people get a set of steel wheels and snow tires so that they can do a quick swap in November and again in April. Others just have the tires changed at a tire shop. Honda Civics can be great on snow-covered streets WITH the right tires (all four).

Oh man... if your Sedan's are anything like mine, with some decent winters on, you should be a beast in the winter. I can go through 2 feet of snow! And im not exaggerating either!

and if your state PERMITS.... studded winter tires FTW!!!!!!
i got 2 studded winter tires on the rear of my truck and they are great! wish i could get all 4 studded or just 2 winters up front to match but not studded since i cannt with my truck bottoming out from time to time i think that would be very bad for my inner fender.lol

o ya all places say they wont just do two winter tires, BUT when it comes to them getting paid they will want that money and sell ya just 2!
my front tires are just regular tires.... they suck in the snow really bad but i dont have the money to put winter tires upfront as well.
just the two studded tires cost me 265bucks out the door.

205/55R16 Bridgestone Blizzak WS 60. I did this along with 4 steel wheels since the cheapest installer around wanted 64.00 to mount & balance each time I wanted to change them. They are coming already mounted and balanced. I can change them out myself.

that would be the better way. my discount tire SAID they would swap my tires for free... but we shall see when i actually take them in to get swapped back.

i was going to go with the blizzaks but i read they only have like 60% or something like that with the special winter tread.
