Default steering wheel vibrating

maybe smeone here knows the problem im experiencing with my 99 civic ex. when im driving at a speed of 50mph and up, when i step on the brakes lightly the steering wheel starts vibrating. i was thinking maybe the pistons needs some cleaning, balancing or alignment. im not sure, so maybe someone can give me some pointers on this issue. thanks in advance.

you recently change your brake pads? Im gonna say it is a warped rotor or 2. I just had the same issue. Rotors changed, no more shaky shaky.

I had the same problem but it was both of those. First of all the steering wheel would start vibrating just when driving fast without braking but then I got it aligned so that stopped but since my rotors are warped, when I break on the freeway it shakes horribly, its actually kinda scary.

Your rotors need to be turned (machined) or replaced (if they would be too thin after being machined).
