Default stock rear shock question

so i just put in my coilover sleeves on my stock shocks and i seem to be having a little problem. the "cup" on the rear shocks that the stock spring sits on is the the way of the bottom of the sleeve. is there a way to somehow cut this off so the sleeves will actually sit on something?

What sleeves do you have??

Most coilover sleeves sit inside the "cup" of the stock shock without problems.

However, I HIGHLY suggest for you to get some performance shocks though, as your stockers are going to be too soft and will fail with the added stress.

I see... Well, if you are REALLY REALLY careful with an grinder or dremel (which may take a while) you can cut down the cup, but leave a little left for the sleeve to sit on.

But again, if you go lower than the stock cup on stock shocks the shock will fail you will have to replace it. You run the risk of deforming the spring when you drive with dead shocks.

Just a little bit of "been there, done that." For suspension, you get what you pay for. 40 dollar eBay specials without upgrading the shocks will be bouncy, kill shocks and bushings. They might feel okay now but give it 6 months and the springs will the crap.

dito. be sure to leave some of the bottom cup so the springs dont slide off to the side or what not... could have some problems if it does....

and if your going that low you better be saving up for new GOOD struts! they will blow! hell most struts say you cannt lower them over 1.5inches or it will void warente...
