stretched on 17x8's?
wondering if any of you chaps have any knowledge as to what tires can be stretched how far. im looking at a set of 17x8 XXR's (THESE) and want to know if my current ventus tires would fit if stretched since they're close to brand new. they're 205/40R17. inner clearance shouldnt be an issue since theresa +35 offset and outter clearance will be good too since ill be rolling, or need be flaring, the fenders. we also have a cheetah bead seater at work or else i can use the old brake cleaner bomb trick to puff them out. so, anyone have experience with stretching tires?

dunno much about stretching tires. dont think it'd look good at all on a civic, let alone 17's on a civic for that matter. just IMO.
im running +35 offset with no camber kit, none of the fenders have been rolled, probably lower than some ppl andpushing the car to its limits very often. never have i had a rubbing issue or any other issue with the wheels/tires for that matter. BUT these are on 15x6.5 wheels with 195/50R15 tires.

Buy wheels that fit the car. A +35 offset is not the proper fit on any civic.
Your gonna be a guy asking about what to do about all the rubbing.
17x8..... ?

kartune and ej6, you guys have never heard of aggressive fitments, have you?
If mossy is rolling/flaring the fenders, a low offset is best, especially given an 8" wide wheel... too high of an offset with too wide of a wheel will result in the tire rubbing on the inside of the wheel well (I have nice little marks on the inside of my wheel wells from my 7" wide wheels with +45mm offsets)

They will not fit.. a 7.5 wide is pushing it to an extreme cause i had that oin my mini truck..but it will not work on a 8' wide will trust me...and why the hell would u put a 8' wide wheel on a civic in the first place idk...

i do not recommend that setup for a stock civic. just pay up and get the right sized wheels/tires.

what if i were to add a 5-10mm spacer to crank up the offset if there wasnt enough inner clearance? this really isnt a practical application and i understand that. this is just style preferance for cruising, im buying a set of 15's with falkens for track days in a couple months.
