Default Suspension "rebuild"

OK, so the suspension in my 88 hatch is starting to whine quite a bit. Literally, it squeaks when a bump is hit. This car has never had any suspension work done on it and it has 150K. I was wondering what some good brands for shocks and springs are that I could pick up from a NAPA or Kragens. I'm not looking for coil-overs or anything performance like, just some quality aftermarket to replace the dying stock stuff. Secondly, should I replace the bushings and all that when I replace these other things? Is there a visual criteria to help me out with this? Is there anything else at this stage of my Civic's suspension life I should look to replace?
Thanks for all your responses and help in advance.
