Suspension Bolts
Wanted to get an opinion....I'm planning on ordering KSports in a few months, and I know there's a possibility of the bolts on the shock assembly breaking, since I live in an area with salted roads. I've got tons of PB Blaster, but I'm considering ordering extra bolts just in case. I've heard from MXS that they're $8 from Honda, but I found them for really cheap on the Honda Parts Warehouse site...Just wanted to double check that I'm looking at the proper bolt.
Here's a link to the front shock assembly (01 EX 2DR)...Am I right in assuming that I'd need parts #12 (bolt) and #14 (nut)?
Honda Parts Warehouse
Thanks,
Baker

buty one just in case. it's like $8 from honda.
your strut assembly is different from mine, but all you have to do is tell the honda service parts guy that you need lower control arm bolts (that thread through). he'll know what youre talking about.

Isn't that what's in that picture? I don't really want to spend $8 when their $2.50 for the front and $1.30 for the rear on there. I know most people are familiar with the 6th gens, so this might be a bit out of the ordinary, but I'm pretty sure that the #12 bolt is the one that connects to the LCA. Basically I'm just trying to save some cash, and get all 4 bolts for the price of the 1 at the dealer.
Thanks for the reply man! Is anyone familiar with this particular assembly? (7th Gen)

the rears are going to be harder to remove than the front. That is what you need. But you have Macpherson struts, TOTALLY different design from older Civics/Integras. It's different from the Macpherson struts on my Legacy too, I can't even tell what I'm looking at here.
It has to be in one of these two pictures, though.
REAR LOWER ARM
REAR SHOCK ABSORBER

Alright, thanks MXS! I'll have to do a little research on getting them out before I do it I guess. I've heard people suggest a spring compressor for ease of removal. Would that be a valid option for this application?
Besides PB Blaster, another good thing to have when dealing with rusty hardware is a propane torch. Just be sure not to burn/melt/explode anything you don't want to. Ace Hardware sells torches and hardware pretty cheap, if you have one nearby.
