Suspension Help! What brands?
I went looking for front sway bars and didn't really find anything in the short time I was looking. Most everything I saw was for the rear. Any suggestions. I personally am buying Skunk 2s rear camber kit and LCAs really soon to go on with the new tires.
And under 5000 words!!!
Sorry if that's too much reading for you. I was really hoping to have an in depth discussion on Honda suspensions and what brands are worth the money. Anyway, thanks for the response and willingness to help.

Tanabe and H&R would be my choice in sway bars. I have a 7th gen EX and from the research that I've done it looks like the H&Rs are taking it, unless Tanabe comes out with chromoly sways before I'm ready to purchase, but I love the sound of proprietary material that H&R boasts especially from a trusted company like that.
mombo,
i'm fairly certain that he's talking about me! i couldn't help myself. [&o] i was excited about owning a civic again. i'm really wanting to learn a lot about these cars. i guess i got a little carried away.

general consensus on strut/sway bars is anything really works. theyre just metal bars. by that logic, you could just get ebay bars. you can get all four strut/sway bars (front upper, rear upper, front lower, rear lower) for 40 bucks and 35 shipping. 75 bucks and one of the best buys you'll ever make for your suspension.
check out some of my other posts in this topic, pay especially close attention to "what not to do" that I have encountered.
also..
I disagree completely. You could mod a car that doesn't need the camber kit, this might be true unless you want to modify the ride height, but lowering it or changing any aspect of your car's suspension, stock or not, get it alignment job done!!! its only $45 bucks and it will save your tires' tread.
In the long run, it saves to get an alignment.
Also my advice is just DO NOT buy cheapo Coil-Over kits, or Camber kits from ebay like this

or this

Buy Skunk2 rear camber kit, and I do not suggest Skunk2's coil-over kit, I would suggest a full coil-over from Tein, or just some quality lowering springs and a good alignment job, make sure the mechanic knows what you have done to your car, that you want the whole inspection of all the suspension, and that you expect them to do the job right the first time, or to not attempt it at all. I been screwed by mechanics in this field who did not expect me to call them out on their in-complete work. Bolts were loose when I was riding around, and they never adjusted the front camber, be SURE to ask!!!
And if there's anyone that doesn't think you should get an alignment job done, is naive, come ride in my car after I installed my coil-overs, tell me it didn't need it... lol
I hope people can read this before they make the same mistakes I have. If you have any questions, let me know. Even if you want to know how my crappy ebay spring/coil-overs ride like.. etc... stock honda > ebay coil-overs
Oh, and I do suggest any type or brand of Tower/Brace/Strut/Tie bars, as long as they are metal and pretty strong then they'll work great.... just dont buy cheapo coil-over or camber kits.
also..
you dont need camber kit unless your allignment cant be fixed by regular adjustment
