Default Suspension Upgrades on a 96

Hi my name is Joe and i drive a stock civic (with an in dash dvd player) and i have been told that the only thing that is capable of being high performance on a civic is the suspension. My brother the Sti owning bastard told me this. So about the suspension I never have liked the stance and i am on a budget so what do i do. I don't want to run coilovers they are a hasel.

So recomendations any one

Tell your brother that he's wrong...and make suspension and brakes your first step in a quest to make his STi look like a toy...:-D

Welcome to HCF!!!

I always liked Koni's.
And 600hp doesn't do much good when you have to turn.
I'll take a good handling car over a fast car any day.

it's trick my bro is a smart man he did the suspension before the engine I will never be able to hang with it. I understand that an awd car will eat a front wheel drive car in almost every way. I don't make enough money to hang with him but i got a drag slip where i beat him. He missed a shift and was just using me to warm up.

I would wager that SOMEONE makes a strut bar for your car.

Your brother's car might be bad ***, but where did he get the idea that suspension is the only thing you can mod? You can tell him that the Sniper said that anything he can mod on his car- you can mod on yours.

What kind of ET is he running? I guarantee there is a Civic out there that is faster than his all mighty STI.

You'd probably like a set of sways (I'm getting a rear one from an old teggy), good shocks and springs, camber kits for front and back(please get them), good rim+tire combo makes a hell of a difference too...
