Default taking off the drum

sorry if this is in the wrong place
im trying to change my girlfriend"s rear drum (she has a 94 altima). i cant get the drum off, i went to autozone and pepboys and they said to hit it with a hammer and it should loosen up enough to come off, but i arleady tried that.

do i need to take off that nut in the middle of the drum for it to come off?

no. the spindle nut dosnt need to come off...just a sugestion...make sure the e brake isnt o...if it isnt...hit it kinda hard all the way around..and wiggle it mabe even use a screwdriver just becareful where u pry...this probably is because the shoes have worn groves into the drum itself...do the shoe is probbaly whats holding it...good luck
