I thought the s-tech tein springs were only supposed to be 1.5" so I wouldn't have to buy a camber kit and use stock struts? But on ebay all the sellers are listing the s-tech as a 1.9" (front) and 1.7" (back) drop on a 96-00???
Does that mean I'm screwed and have to buy all that extra ****?

yes its nessecary...well...its nessecary in the fact that in the long run y ou will be spending less because you wont be paying for new tires every two months.
btw i budgeted 1500 for suspension on my upcoming project. doesnt sound like much right? i planned for springs, shocks, front UCAs, rear UCAs and LCAs, strut and sway bars (all four), and wheels..and theyre all quality parts (i went over my 1500 budget by 1 dollar, but thats including shipping prices and 1500 wasnt initially planned to include shipping)...now i just need to scrounge up 3 or 400 bucks for tires and i'll be set...

I would sugest of getting new shocks/struts. So you dont have to worry about changing them later on. So you wont have to do them twice. Like what I did I bought shocks/struts and springs so I did them together. So i wouldnt have to go over them twice. That would be a lot easier then doing them twice.

you can get away with stock shocks with the s-techs...but the problem with the s-techs is, to retain stock shocks, theyre not very stiff. if you look around ebay you can probably find H&R Sports for 150-175 bucks and Illuminas for 200. megan racing rear LCAs and ajustable rear UCAs will run you maybe 75 each, skunk 2 front UCAs for 100, and then you could get strut and sway bars for 100-150 for all four.

RE: Teins
I like the fact that the s-techs are softer... this is a daily driver, not a race car. All that is just too much money. If I wanted to get a car that I would feel comfortable spending that much money on, I wouldn't have bought a $7k 6 year old civic.
The only stuff I was planning on getting were some cheap ebay strut bars and lowering springs. Anything beyond that is more junk than I'm willing to mess around with, so if I need to get shock/struts and a camber kit, then **** on it... I'm not going to dump that much money into this car. I've got a lot more important things to spend money on, that's why I keep my car budget tight.

Well, then this project is on hold.... but when I do get the cash I'll need both of these kits, right?

But my stock shocks will be ok? I don't care about improving anything beyond just lowering it, I just want to know what I HAVE to do to make the lowering springs work well without increasing wear on anything.
