Tire Fitment Question??????????
My dad has a 1998 Civic 2 door LX, that he uses for hid dd to work. It has either 185/65/14 or 185/70/14 that are bald. I have a 94 Ranger that a tree took out that has 195/70/14's that have 2000 miles on them. Would they fit on his Civic? The tires he has now measure 23.5" and the Ranger tires measure 24.8". Cause the Ranger is going to the scrap yard. Thanks for the help.

There is no such thing as a 1998 Civic LX Coupe.
Regardless, 96-00 Coupe tire size on 14" wheels is a 185/65/14, which you say are the current tires.
1.3" of diameter is a large difference. Your speedometer will read 5.5% too slow... so when your speedometer says you are going 60 MPH you are actually going 63.3 MPH. Doesn't seem that bad, but say you're trying to go 70 MPH (which is the interstate max speed limit here in FL, not sure about where you are from), you are actually going about 74 MPH. I think the tires will fit but you'll need to keep all of this in mind. They also might look a little bit awkward. You really should just get the right tires.

I understand the whole speedo being off. And he could care less what it looks like. He drives it 40 miles to work and 40 miles home, then it sits. They are just good free tires and he needs tire bad. Just tring to save him some money.
