Default tire size question

Hey everyone, I'm looking into getting a new set of tires and wondering how to find lower profile tires. I guess i'm not sure how to tell the sidewall height or whatnot. The tires i have now are 195/55/17

what year civic are they on? because your current tire size is not correct if that is what is on the car in your sig.

if you indeed have a 96-98 civic, then you should be looking at 205/40 r17

you could also go here and it will calculate different wheel and tire sizes for you: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

If that picture in your sig is of the wheels you are talking about, those aren't 195/55/17. They look like 205/40/17 or 205/45/17. Check the tire size again.

And if those are 205/40/17 like I think they are... well you don't want to go any smaller than that.

The tires on there now are 195/55/r16, I went and checked again. I'm not quite sure all the details about them, I got the wheels off craigslist, haha

that makes a little more sense, you said they were 17" in your original post.

try 205/45/16, i think that's the right size
