Default What is the maxximum size tire for a 2001 Civic

I have recently bought a 2001 honda civic, it currently has 185/60/r14 tires on it and i would like to get some more ground clearance as it will be going off the road. what is the maximum size tires i can put on a 2001 honda civic DX manual transmission without damaging the fenders, inner fenders, and having no tire rub? I really appreciate the help and thank you in advance for a response

To be honest, I think you'd probably do better finding a forum for rally cross, and ask those guys (or maybe look through the Grassroots Motorsports site). I'm not sure how many of them are racing Civics, but they might be able to give you a better answer. I think the knowledge base here knows low profile tires (or at least similar to stock tire diameters).

One thing to keep in mind, however, is to make sure your shocks are in decent shape. The extra weight from the larger tire will put a strain on them. But more importantly for you, it'll help keep the tires from banging into the inner fenders since you'll have less travel on the top side of the suspension movement.

buy a truck putting massive tires on a civic is not going to be a good idea and in the end you won't evan gain that much clearance the 7th gens do not have a exhaust tunnel like the older civics so it hangs alot lower.
