Will this fit???
Its almost about time to change my tire and i wanted to know will tire 185/60 fit the rims on my car right now. The rims right now is wrap around in Dunlop 195/55 perfectly and was wonderring if i take that out and put 185/60 on it will it fit??? I think it will fit but 185/60 might be a little too skinny for the rims.

RE: Will this fit???
so you know, the first number (185, for example) is supposed to be the width of the tire from sidewall to sidewall in mm. the second number (60 in this case) is the height of the tire from the outside of the tread to the bottom of the bead in mm. the number after the R (the 15 in 185/60 R15 for ex.) is the rim diameter. tires with different rim diameters ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.
if you take a tire that has a lower first number than the original (185 vs 195 in your case) then your tire's contact patch (where the tread hits the road) will be narrower. if it is a lot smaller, then you will see the difference and your tire will look funny. in this case, the number is not that much smaller, you may not notice it visually.
the second number being larger in this case will give you a larger diameter tire overall. in your case, it is not much, but you should be able to see it if you put an old tire next to your new tire. this new diameter may affect your speedometer reading slightly.
as long as the rim diameter for the tire is the same, then yes, the tire will fit. but keep in mind that different size tires will change your handling. also, don't "mix and match" different tires on the car, if you change one out, change them all. otherwise, you may be in for a nasty surprise next time you have to stomp on the brakes.
