Default 1991 Honda Civic LX Auto to Manual

Hello,

I bought a 1991 Honda Civic LX Automatic, the car is in ridiculously good condition for its age and mileage (old lady owned). I have been driving it for about a year and the automatic transmission is 'rough' sometimes.
I have seen a few posts on here about doing an auto to manual conversion and was thinking about having it done. I wouldn't do it myself because I simply don't have the tools/space, etc.

The car is currently completely stock (except the radio, speakers and spare tire cover/trunk floor)

could anyone estimate/guesstimate how much parts and labor would be to have this done? Lets say @ 75.00/hr and all parts used/junk yard, except the ones that need to be new, like seals/clutch or whatever.

If the current transmission were to die (and assuming i was going to replace it anyway...) would a conversion be worth the increase in gas mileage/pleasure? thanks!

the car only has 166k on her...and its lovely brown.

Do you have any "backyard mechanic" friends? It's not hard, you just need to find a donor car with pedals, shifter assembly, cable transmission, axles, gauge cluster (to get rid of the automatic indicators), flywheel and clutch, and any other crap you may need. Look in junkyards...
