2001 Civic Short Throw Shifter
I have a 2001 Honda Civic, and I am wondering what would be a good short throw shifter for it? I hear skunk2 is really great. I do lots of daily driving, so I dont need anything to be race setup, something that will shorten the throws, still be smooth and not clunky, but more fun.
P.S. I also read there is no way to install a 6 speed tranny onto a D17 motor? Correct me if I am wrong! Would you agree that 6th gear would be great for fuel economy in this car. I sometimes travel extended periods of times doing 85-100 MPH. RPMS are merely 5,000 at 100 which is excessive, and I know it can harm my exhaust valves. Gear 6 would be perfect. A whole swap is not in mind as the car has only 82k on it! Thanks for looking, all comments are appreciated.

I have a 2K EX, I put the Vibrant short shifter in. I know Vibrant is not known for very high quality but the shifter works fine and was only about $30 - $40. It shifts very smooth, had to get use to the shorter throws. You may want to check how close your exhaust comes to the linkage. Any short shifter will drop the linkage by about 1". I had to space my exhaust down, no biggie.
