Question 2003 Hybrid CVT Compatbable Transmissions (Manual Swap?)

Hi, New to the forum here.

Just bought a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 4d Sedan a few hours ago for 500$ from a friend moving to Hawaii. Win/Win. She gets to enjoy Hawaii, and I get a car in pretty good shape for a great price.

Great shape besides a few problems,

One of which being the Transmission makes some pretty awful crunching noise between Neutral and First, or Neutral and Reverse.

First order of business is a full systems flush; But it's likely that the gears are ground, and the whole transmission may need to be replaced.
This is my first time owning any vehicle with such a complicated electrical system.

Are non hybrids transmissions compatible with hybrids (2003 Civic Hybrid 4d Sedan) ? IF so which years?

Is it possible to replace the automatic CVT with a manual transmission and still get the 55mpg+ benefits?

Thanks in advance, Appreciate the help.

i dont specifically know regarding the swap but if its possible it wont be cheap. possible needs obviously the manual transmission then a compatible ecu, wiring harness, slave cylinder, and the appropriate pedal set. you would alnost be better off finding an lx with a manual thats rusty and or smashed up and swapping the whole shebang.
