4-speed or 5-speed?

Default 4-speed or 5-speed?

06 honda civic Lx, there are D, D3, 2, 1 gear. I want to know if it is 4-speed or 5-speed? How 5-speed is better than 4-speed? thanks for advices!!

But dealer told me that the D include the fourth speed and overdrive. In this case, it is 5-speed. I have no idea. Can it be called 5-speed? Thanks for advices.

technically its 4. honda 5 speed autos have a d4

it is. for instance you have actually 3 gears you often use (D3) but your overdrive gear is the 4th.

same thing with cars with a D4 setting. the 5th gear is the overdrive.
