Default 93 honda civic

I have a '93 honda civic (automatic) with about 210,000 miles on it. Recently, there has been a shudder when I am stopped at a stoplight or something. The other thing is that when I am traveling at around 40 mph and start going uphill, it seems to have a hard time kicking into the next gear and starts decelerating until I reach level ground. Otherwise, it was driving okay on flat surface. Well, yesterday my check engine light came on about five minutes before I made it home. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Default RE: 93 honda civic

the only thing u could do is change the tranny fluid & keep your fingers crossed----make sure u use the right fluid --my 97 needs a "friction modifyer" when used with regular atf --but im not sure about a 93 ---as far as the check engine light it could be somthing unrelated
