97 dx tranny noise

my 97 makes like a whine/tick noise when ever i go from a high rpm down shift mostly downshifting from second too first and a little from 3rd to 2nd.
i pretty sure it has to do somthing with the clutch, i forgot what that one beairng was called but i want to see what you guys think

i also see to the left under the maintainance light is a little square that turned yellow amonth ago and i thought is was always there till i was driving today and seen it turn red, must have to do with the transmisson, i think the trhowout bearings going out, but stoll need help

little red square is telling you to change your oil, it's a maintanence reminder, it's designed to be green from 0-5000 miles, yellow from 5000-7500, and red at 7500+ miles since last oil change... most of the time, shops don't reset it, so ignore it if you got a recent oil change and go by the mileage or time since the last change

you can reset the indicator by taking your key, or another similar shaped object, and depressing the button next to the indicator inward

thanks, now that i have that prob cleared, im still stressin on that transmisson, is it bad to drive it like that or what.

ive only had this problem when the input shaft bearing inside the transmission is going bad.

you have to tear the transmission down to replace it........its not hard if you have a visual diagram or pay close attention to how you take it apart. easiest way to confirm this is by removing the transmission and shacking the input shaft up/down/side to side. any movment means a bad isb

an instructer at the college i went to said that body style was know for the bearings in the trans going bad, the only thing he knows is honda so i guess hes right
