Default auto to manual

I am trying to convert my auto 2000 civic to a 5spd and I am wondering if the 92-95 5spd transmission can fit my engine. I know they're both d16 engine and also if i buy a 92-95 shift linkage would it fit in my 2000? if there is any site that might give me more information, that would be great!

Thanks

no, having a hatch won't make a difference.

btw, I have the manual pedal assemblies for a 92-00 civic if you're interested

I found on CL a 95 civic 5spd trans for $75. I am wondering if it was a good deal? He said it was from a wrecked civic and it shift perfectly fine, but I don't know what kind of question to ask him, because i never brought a transmission before.

yeah, $75 for a transmission's not bad at all; usually they go for $100-$150. If it's not in a running car, you really won't know what kind of condition it's actually in without pulling it apart, so you basically have to take his word for it.

the tranny will work with the motor as long as its got the manual ecu to go with it. do you have a list of everythin you need cause i would get it together before you start

The tranny will work even with the automatic PCM; it won't run perfectly (it'll act weird when the PCM thinks it's time to shift), but it'll still run. Actually, if you really want, you can convert an automatic PCM to a manual unit, I think we might have a post about it floating around here somewhere.

^This should be added to the auto to manual conversion sticky in the transmission section.
Write that if you have OBD1 (comes stock in 92-95 models) you can either get a manual ECU for it or you can convert is to manual. OBD0 and OBD2 must be swapped out.
I have hosted the picture on my photobucket account so that it will never be lost in the web.
