blown up tranny

Default blown up tranny

i blew up my tranny today going up a hill at like 15


put a hole in the top about the size of a baseball the speedometer rod came out as well as some gears are sitting on the top of the tranny

any ideas on a new transmition

no it wasnt

as soon as it happened i parked it and there was a ****load of tranny fluid dripping

that's really odd, because the D16Y8 transmission is made of steel. WTF

well, the transmission you had is the best one that will fit on your engine, so just get another D16Y8 transmission.

Never heard of that happening before ever. Sorry dude yea I suggest direct replacement unless you can find someone parting out an lsd tranny

actually yea, try to find a JDM d15b transmission with an LSD, it's better than the Y8 one. If you can't find the JDM one, get another Y8 tranny.

alright i just got another y8 tranny for 150 i put it in its straight now

the casing is not made of steel. the gears are but not the casing
