Default cable transmissions (help!)

Okay, let me start off by covering my *** with the usual "I'm not good with transmissions" statement.

That being said, I have an auto transmission as most of you probably know. My friend with an '88 CRXsi (5-speed trans.)called me yesterday and told me he's getting a B18 swap. I didn't think of it while I was talking to him, but afterwards it dawned on me... this could be my chance to get a cheap manual transmission to swap to. This is where my uncertainty comes into play; his transmission is cable-operated. The P20/B000 transmission that would be in mycar ishydraulic. Will I need anything special to convert it to a cable transmission? Normally, I'd assume so, but since I'm swapping from an auto to a manual, I'm not sure. And just making sure, but what parts do I need? Do I still need master/slave cylinders and everything like thatsince it's acable transmission?

well I think that one's for converting a car that originally had cable so it can use a hydro tranny... I'm sort of in the opposite situation. But my biggest question is do I even have to worry about the hydro vs. cable thing since I have an automatic right now?

I don't believe there's a kit for that, and yes, you would still have to worry about it.
