So the noise I’ve been hearing. It’s when you are doing engine braking mainly, or if you are coasting along doing 30 in 3rd. Each time you let the momentum of the car turn the engine the noise get audible. It sounds a bit like a grinding noise, possibly bearings. If you just gently touch the accelerator it almost disappears..I heard that it is possible that the bearings are making noise(Input shaft bearings)if someone had a similar problem?Car is Civic Type R Ep3 2004 95.000km..6 speed..

 

Does the noise go away when the clutch pedal is depressed?

 

When the clutch pedal is pressed in the sound is gone..

 

Fits with a bad input shaft bearing in the transmission.

 

Yes,but that sound is not that strong in idle,only vhen i slowing down in gears(1,2,3)Engine braking the sound is strong..If you just gently touch the accelerator it almost disappears..sory for my bad English..
