Ok, i tried to teach my gf how 2 drive stick today in my car. She was bad and really hard on the clutch. Now it feels funny. Wen i push in the clutch pedal or let it out it feels kinda shakey and rough. Also it seems to engage farther off the floor, and it doesnt hook up a smoothly, like it suddenly grabs. Any comments on this? Thanks 4 your help.

 

That probably put alot of wear on it. I had the same thing happen. My friend that I was trying to teach burned more clutch than I ever have. I had to take the tranny apart for a rebuild and when I did, I found out that the clutch was about 60% worn out. It was perfect until that happened.

 

hot spots on the pressure plate and flywheel along with possible glaze over the clutch disk is what it sounds like to me.

 

yeah, that sounds pretty accurate. but did you drive it RIGHT after she did? after it has a chance to cool for an hour or so does it still do it? if the plate is hot, it will grip strangely.

 

Yeah now its real bad. Wen i let the clutch out it grabs and slips a couple of times before finally hookin up. Ill probably take it in this weekend.

 

Time to upgrade
