Default CV joint

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to do aCV joint replacment or complete drive axle? I suspect our 97 coupe with 1500000 miles on it is in need of at least one side or the other. Starting to get some noise while turning to the right.
Do it youself project.
Or better to have a shop do it.

Its not tough to do it yourself.

Heres a couple DIYs to give you an idea of what you would have to do

You best bet is to just get a rebuilt axle assembly which will run you about $100

My inner cv joint mash up(right side) last month, the whole inner housing case was cracked. I had to replace the whole axle, I bought it used, cost about US$200, brand new in company isUS$650. My mechanic did the work ,and the car is running ok now.
by the way the car is the 2001 civic ES1
