HF tranny in an SI CRX
Ok here's the deal we did a tranny swap in hopes to get better gas mileage so we got an HF trans, fly wheel, and starter. We pulled the stock Si tranny out and installed new rear main seal, pilot bearing, Fly wheel, clutch and throw out bearing. Everything is back together and we adjusted the cable on the clutch.
The problem is the clutch works in reverse. If you hold down on the clutch you won't be able to put it into gear. (I adjusted the cable almost as far as it goes.) but if release the clutch you can put it into gear. Now if you push on the clutch pedal you can get the clutch to engage and pull the car along.
any help would be appreciated.

Have never heard ofthis problem before.. tat's CRAZY.. ahahaa... so everything is opposite.. foot off the clutch to shift and press clutch down to engage so thethe car canmove..?
Hmm.. the only thing I can think of is that you may have install the clutch plate in the wrong direction.
(The higher side on the clutch plate should be facing inside the pressure plate)
