hitting vtec

Default hitting vtec

ok i am kinda still newto civics i am use to driving a 99 dodge neon dohc fast but was a pain.i just dont understand hitting vtec how do i do it do i have to be in a certain gear or wait for the rpms to go up i have vtecbut i just want to know how to operate it

v-tec should kick in around 5500 rpm

Its automatic. Happens when you hit higher rpms. Might not hear it that much because its a sohc motor.

What year/ trim civic do you have? Not all engines have VTEC (Which is variable valve time, btw), and not all engage at the same point.

there is a little red button on the bottom of your steering wheel that you need to hold into engage VTECK. Its craziness.
