I am thinking of buying my wife a 04 Civic and I dont know much about them as I have always been a tried and true RWD car guy. It is suppost to be one of the more higher end models. Should I like the car and get the bug to get one to play with, I'll be due for a car soon too, how well does the auto work and respond to mods? Is it durable? Will the 5sp auto from the 2006 fit it? What about the 06 6sp manual?

the manual tranny is much stronger than the auto.

 

Can the autos be built up? I dont drag race but do run my cars hard otherwise. What if any vendors make/sell parts to improve them?
