Default locking a 87SI differential

Hope this is the right forum for my question. I am tring to find the best way to lock up my diff. I cant find any spools for this year of car. I was hoping to find an after market locker before I broke out the tig welder. I guess I can weld up the spiders like on a convential 3rd member? Any advice. Thanks for the help.

is this just a straight drag car? otherwise, dont dare to do this, it will be completely unusable. its not the same as doing it on a rwd car.

welding the spiders is your best bet, but probably not that reliable

welding the spiders is the same thing as installing a spool... not practical for the street and not reliable

^^^ not really, it has the same effect but welding the spiders is not as strong or relialbe as a spool, but if you read his other post, its going to be an off road vehicle and the engine is not going to be in a rex anymore.

the way he would be using it would be the cv shafts make front and rear drivshafts and they would only spin together at the same speed, so it would be like driving a subaru with awd
