see my shifter is sooooo loose, and its cause the bolt holding it to the shift linkage is too small and too long. I put it in that way, now the shifter moves a good 3 to 4 inches back and forth when in gear...it freaks people out lots.

Awesome, I buy the car knowing that everything should be fine and that it's going to be an easy fix. No, it's never that easy... on the way home it just decided to die in the middle of an intersection. The guy refuses to refund me.

I paid 1600 for it, the body was mint and everything was real nice besides the loose shifter and what just happened.

Sound fair enough...
So, what happened, what did you try after, and what were results?

Well, I was in fourth doing about 60 and was about to shift, and suddenly no power. I shift anyways, and nothing... go back to fourth and nothing. So light turns red, I turn the car off and start it. Won't start. I have to push it out of the intersection and there battery is fine of course. The gas gauge says half full, but I cant get under the car to tap the tank because it's nothing but puddles. The starter is fine too, it just wont start. I am hoping it's the gas... but the guy said he had gas in it, and so did the gauge. He was a dick about it saying that I broke it. Broke it in 1.3 mi and 10minutes, I don't think so. I'm going to go back with some gas anways on friday to see if it was that. If not, I'm ****ed.

Where there any hmmmm hiccups before it died? Or did it just die on the spot without any warning? What was the road profile – up, down, flat? Did you hear the fuel pump humming when you tried to restart? Was it trying to start or was it just cranking without any sign of life?

The only thing was like 3 stop lights before that I went into third and it started like jerking I guess is the best way to put it. The road profile was completely flat and I didn't hear any humming, just alot of honking. Sounded like there was some life.

Sounds like it very well may be just a lack of gas. Definitely worth giving it a try.
